I'm fortunate to earn a living in an industry I'm genuinely passionate about—personal development. The best part is that I can run my business from virtually anywhere with nothing more than a laptop and an internet connection, giving me the freedom to work wherever life takes me. 

My wife and I are blessed to call the beautiful Mississippi Gulf Coast home, where 26 miles of white-sand beaches and sunshine remind us every day why we chose this lifestyle. 

One of the greatest gifts of owning an online business is the freedom to live where we want, travel when we choose, and experience the world in ways I only dreamed about as a kid. 

But the greatest blessing of all is family. Both of our children live nearby, and we get to spend precious time with our three amazing grandchildren on a regular basis. For me, that's what success is really about—not just making a living, but creating a life filled with freedom, memories, and the people who matter most. 

THE PROBLEM THAT LED ME HERE:  I started my entrepreneurial journey nearly 35 years ago. 

Seriously... where did all those years go? 

Looking back, I could probably write a book about all the businesses and opportunities I've tried over the years. 

There was network marketing (a great way to have friends and family suddenly avoid your phone calls), lawn care (hot, exhausting work), real estate (where income can be unpredictable), a decorative concrete franchise (physically demanding), a TV Guide franchise (until the industry disappeared), a retail health and nutrition store (where we lost more than $50,000), and plenty of other ideas that never quite worked out. 

With every business, I was chasing the same dream. 

I wanted a way to work from home that gave me freedom and flexibility. I wanted something with real income potential that wasn't overly technical and didn't require me to work 60 or 70 hours a week. I was looking for a business I could realistically run in just a few focused hours each day. 

I came dangerously close to giving up on my dream and getting a traditional job. 

BUT LOOKING BACK NOW I'M GRATEFUL I DIDN'T QUIT: 

Times were hard. We struggled with overwhelming debt from businesses that simply didn't work out the way we'd hoped. 

There were months when it felt like we were taking one step forward and two steps back. Every setback was discouraging, and there were nights when the stress made it difficult to sleep as I wondered how we were going to make everything work. 

There were moments when I honestly questioned whether building my own business was ever going to happen for me. I began to wonder if maybe I was chasing a dream that was only meant for other people. 

But looking back now, I'm grateful I didn't quit. 

Those difficult years taught me lessons I could never have learned any other way. They gave me the experience to recognize the right opportunity when it finally came along—and ultimately led me to the business, freedom, and lifestyle I'd been searching for all those years. 

THE BUSINESS THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING: The business I was eventually led to is the same one I'm grateful to be building today.
